Dr. B's story
Dr. Bozorgnia is a general adult psychiatrist practicing in Philadelphia. He attended college at Wesleyan University, majoring in philosophy and history with a focus on existentialism and middle eastern history. He then served a year in Americorps while obtaining a Master's in Positive Psychology at the University of Pennsylvania. He attended the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry for Medical School, learning the biopsychosocial approach to medical care. He won the Benjamin Rush Award for Excellence in Psychiatry as medical student. He was elected by his peers into the Arnold P. Gold Humanism in Medicine Society. He finished his residency at the University of Pennsylvania where he served as Chief Resident while obtaining advanced training in psychoanalysis at the Psychoanalytic Center of Philadelphia. He won the Pennsylvania Psychiatric Society Resident Award for Psychodynamic Formulation as well as the University of Pennsylvania Resident Award for Excellence in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. Dr. B serves on the faculty at the University of Pennsylvania where he teaches residents about psychoanalysis and positive psychology.
